How to Hide TV Cables in the UK
Hiding TV cables is one of the most popular requests we receive alongside TV wall mounting. There are two main options: running cables inside the wall, or concealing them behind surface-mounted trunking.
Option 1: In-Wall Cable Concealment
In-wall cable concealment routes your TV cables through the void inside the wall, hiding them completely. This is the premium option and gives the cleanest possible finish.
How It Works on a Stud Wall
The engineer cuts two small holes in the plasterboard — one behind the TV and one at the cable exit point. Cables are fed through the void, patched, and decorated. The result is invisible.
How It Works on a Solid Wall
The engineer chases a channel into the plaster, routes the cables, and fills the channel before skimming over.
In-wall cable concealment costs: from GBP 260 depending on cable run length and wall type.
Option 2: Surface Cable Trunking
Surface trunking uses a plastic channel fixed to the wall surface to conceal cables. Available in white and can be painted to match your wall. Trunking works on all wall types including solid brick and costs less than in-wall concealment.
Surface trunking costs: from GBP20 depending on cable run length and if booked in combination with TV Wall Mounting.
Which Option Is Right for You?
Stud wall and want a completely clean finish — choose in-wall concealment. Solid brick or concrete wall and want a fast affordable solution — choose surface trunking. Our engineers will advise on the best option when they assess the installation.
